For Immediate Release
Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) would like to advise members of the public that Kings Road near the 4miles Bridge is closed to traffic due to Water Authority of Fiji burst main and sinkhole.
This is an emergency closure which will allow FRA and WAF contractors to carry out urgent repair works.
As a precautionary measure, Kings Road has been fully closed between Nabua Roundabout and Centrepoint traffic lights.
In the interim, traffic will be diverted down through Ratu Dovi Road for commuters travelling to Suva. For commuters travelling towards Nausori they will need to go through Jerusalem Road or up Mead Road and down Khalsa.
Traffic management is in place for those that require to go close to the cavity area only on official business and residence off Kings Road.
Members of the public are requested to strictly adhere to the traffic management plan in place to ensure the safety of other motorists and workmen alike.
Our teams are enroute to start excavation tonight accompanied by WAF team. At the moment, there is no time frame for when the lanes will be restored to normal.
Travelers along this area are advised to take this notice into account when finalising travel plans. For further queries please call the FRA on 5720.
