Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) Acting Chief Executive Officer Kamal Prasad is reiterating to members of the public that the old Rewa Bridge, Nausori is strictly out of bound.
“We have received complaints regarding people consuming liquor at the old bridge. This is not only against the law, but is also unsafe,” Mr Prasad said.
He said the deterioration has reached a stage which represents a risk to the public and may partially collapse without warning.
“We are working closely with the Fiji Police and the Nausori Town Council to monitor the non-compliance”.
Mr Prasad said anyone who has information regarding the contravention is urged to contact the Fiji Police.
The old Rewa Bridge was barricaded and closed indefinitely on 30th June 2017 for public safety.
