This situation report is to advise of the status of FRA’s assets due to TDO3F;
- All Main Supply Route (MSR) in Eastern Division is still open to traffic, motorists are advised to take precautionary measures on restricted sections along Navukailagi crossing (Gau), Namacu crossing (Koro), Delaikoro (Koro), Nacamaki (Koro), and Gau Circular Road.
- Ovalau accessibility is limited between Bureta bridge and Taviya crossing as the approaches has washed away and crossing partially damaged.
- In Central Division, Naqali flat on Sawani Serea Road is closed due to flooding. Access to the Wailoa Power Station (EFL) is not possible by road.
- Kings Road from Suva to Nadarivatu intersection and Tavua Town to Lautoka is open to all traffic. Kings Road is restricted to single lane at Tavua Town.
- Queens Road from Suva to Lautoka is open to all traffic. Nadi Back open to all traffic.
- Full access from Labasa Town to Nabouwalu through Nabouwalu Rd and also towards Savusavu Town through Transinsular Road (TIR).
- Wainikoro Road accessible from Labasa to Nayarabale junction only by 4×4 transport. Soasoa flat (4×4 access only) and Daku flat on wainikoro road still under water. Labasa to Nayarabale to Vanuavou Rd to Natewa West Coast Road open to traffic (Soasoa flat 4×4).
- From Savusavu towards Bucabay and Napuka is all-accessible but we have single lane access at Nakarabo Village along Natewa West Coast Road between Korotasere and Vanuavou due to over slip. Slip site has been cleared and now opened to single lane, full restoration works will continue again this morning.
- With limited access and coverage from Wainikoro Government Station, we have another Team driving through from Vanuavou towards Saqani and Wainigadru to assess the Northern MSR from the other side of Wainikoro Road.
- From Nabouwalu in Bua, we have full access from Nabouwalu Town to Daria Village along Nabouwalu Road (Unsealed) but we could not go beyond Daria crossing since still underwater with approach washout.
- From Nabalebale at Wailevu West Coast Rd Savusavu, water level has receded and Team currently on their way towards Dawara, Kubulau and Wainunu to cover up the other side of Daria Crossing.
- Taveuni and Rabi all serviceable
Roads, Bridges & Crossing (Bus Route):
- Unsealed bus routes have been severely affected around the country mainly on rolling country terrains. Most of the low level crossing in Viti Levu and Vanua Levu are under water.
- Dawasamu Road in Korovou is closed due to flooding at Qelekuro Crossing, Naqiri Crossing, Sisiwa Culvert, Naivoco Culvert. Kings Road is closed to all traffic from Wailotua village towards Rakiraki.
- Wailase Road and Savu Road off Sawani Serea Road is closed at 6.5km crossing to flooding. Sawni Serea road is closed to all traffic from Savu road junction.
- In Nausori the Nataveya Road is closed at Waila crossing due to flooding, Nairukuruku Road is closed due to flooding, Lutu Vuisiga Road is closed at Wainavida Crossing due to flooding, Vatulili Road is closed at Waidradra Crossing due to flooding, Koronivia Road is closed at RP4km due to flooding. Toga road is closed due to flooding.
- Wailotua Village Road, Nasaibitu Road, Wairua crossing, Colata Cocoa Crossing, Deep water road in Korovou closed to all traffic.
- In Nausori the Naila Road is closed due to flooding. Nataveya Road is closed at Waila crossing due to flooding, Nairukuruku Road is closed due to flooding, Lutu Vuisiga Road is closed at Wainavida Crossing due to flooding, Vatulili Road is closed at Waidradra Crossing due to flooding,
- Koronivia Road is closed at RP4km due to flooding. Toga road crossing is closed to all traffic. Vugalei Cocoa Crossing is flooded, Logani Sebi road crossing is flooded and partly damaged. Naboro Cocoa crossing is closed due to flooding.
- Nabukelevu road off Queens Road is closed to all traffic as the Nabukelevu crossing is flooded and partly damaged
FRA Chief Executive Officer Kamal Prasad said their team together with the contractors are closely monitoring the land transport network and jetties.
“We have reconnaissance and construction teams on the ground for damage assessment, route reinstatement and clearance works,” Mr Prasad said.
He said public must continue to exercise caution and avoid crossing flooded areas.
