Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) wishes to advise members of the public that 2514m of severely deteriorated sections of roads in the Greater Suva Area has been rehabilitated.
“We have completed roadworks on sections of Pratt Street, Selbourne Street, Hercules Street, Holland Street, Amy Street, Ono Street, and some sections of Queens Road at Namuka-i-Lau,” says FRA Acting Chief Executive Officer Kamal Prasad.
“Work is currently in progress on the severely deteriorated sections of Fulaga Street, Nasevou Street in Lami, Queens Road at Veisari, Nayau Street and Komo Street.
The works on the next set of roads under this programme will begin from Friday, 6th November, namely:
- Gordon Street,
- Solomoni Street
- Lakeba Street
- Nasinu Road
“Works on Nokonoko Road has been postponed to January 2021 due to contractor unavailability.”
Mr Prasad said the majority of the work will be carried out at night, including curfew hours, however some work will be carried out during the day.
“All works will be sequential such that no open section of road is untrafficable during peak hours. In some instances, the road may be reduced to single lane and motorists are advised to factor in extra travel time if commuting through the area.”
Please slow down as indicated by the temporary traffic signs, follow the instructions of the site traffic personnel, and pay attention while driving along the construction sites.
