The Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) will be installing new road signs and line marking along Grantham Road in Suva from tomorrow to improve safety for road users.
FRA Chief Executive Officer John Hutchinson says this is part of the Capital Safety Works programme.
“The installation of signs will be conducted during the day and will not impact traffic and these works should be completed within two weeks.”
“On the other hand, the line markings will be conducted only at night after 10pm when there is minimal traffic so that the businesses in the area are not affected and is anticipated to be completed by Wednesday (08/02/17), weather permitting.
Mr Hutchinson says another particular focus is improving traffic flow and movement within the area.
“These works will increase road capacity by line marking for two lanes in each direction and implementing ‘No Stopping’ restrictions, which will help to reduce congestion and delays due to the increasing volume of traffic along this route.”
Mr Hutchinson has urged motorists to drive with care and observe all road signs.
“We would like to thank the public for their patience whilst these important works are carried out.”
