Fiji Roads Authority confirms that there was an incident reported on Bau Tikina Road this afternoon involving two cars resulting in a long line of traffic.
FRA CEO John Hutchinson says that an inconsiderate speeding driver has forced an RSL vehicle off the road. That vehicle is stranded on the edge of the embankment.
Mr Hutchinson confirms that the incident was not fatal nor were any injuries sustained however the potential for loss of life as a result of this irresponsible behaviour could have been significant. There has also been considerable traffic delays as a result.
“Motorists are advised to expect traffic delays while attempts are underway to recover the stranded vehicle.”
“FRA would like to stress that drivers follow the posted speed limits and be courteous.”
