Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) would like to advise members of the public, that the Navala Village Crossing along Navala Road, Ba has an emergency temporary weight restriction of 5 tonne placed with immediate effect due to significant damage on one of the arm core culvert.

The crossing will also be temporarily closed for repairs from 8pm Saturday 10 April to 7am Wednesday 14 April 2021. From 7am Wednesday 14 April to 8am Sunday 14 April 2021 the 5 tonne weight restriction will be in effect.  An assessment will be made on Saturday 13 April before an update is provided via a media release.

This is an emergency closure that will allow FRA maintenance contractors to carry out necessary Crossing Deck Repair works. During this time, there will be no access around the affected section but there are alternatives via other routes.  Alternative routes are Nausori Highland and Bukuya Road.

Traffic controllers will be placed at strategic junctions to direct motorists.

Temporary Weight Restriction signs have been installed onsite. Motorists are requested to plan their travel accordingly.
