July 12, 2020Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) Chief Executive Officer Jonathan Moore is expected to complete his three-year term at the end of September. A period of transition has been agreed with Mr Moore to facilitate a smooth handover and to ensure that a strong focus is continued leading the organisation.
Mr Moore joined the Authority in October 2017 and has made great contributions in developing the forward strategy of the Authority, implementing processes and procedures and providing a clear direction towards improving Fiji’s road infrastructure.
In addition to his strategic leadership, he has overseen the replacement of more than 40 vulnerable and ‘at risk’ bridges and crossings, and the renewal of almost 200 kilometers of highway and arterial roads; as well as expanding the rural road network with numerous road expansions and ‘unsealed to seal’ projects.
Mr Moore has also progressed major contracts that will see a further 40 bridges replaced over the next 4 years and more than 200km kilometers of upgrades to major roads throughout Fiji over the next 3 years. His work on modernizing contracts, standards and specifications, anti-congestion measures, vehicle weight control and traffic safety will also continue into the future.
Building on this valuable work the FRA will continue to apply his passion, and commitment to the delivery of our strategic goals and priorities.
The Board and Staff of the FRA would like to thank Mr Moore for his significant contributions during his three-year term and we wish him all the very best in the future.
Mr Kamal Prasad, the current FRA General Manager for the Western Division, will assume the role of the Acting CEO on an interim basis and the Board of Directors will be conducting a comprehensive search process to identify the next successful candidate.
