Construction of the new Market Bridge in Levuka is anticipated to be completed by March 2018, weather permitting.
Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) Acting General Manager Capital Works Tarun Bhalla says the foundation works and sub-structure works are complete.
“The remaining works include the construction of the concrete superstructure, road approaches and installation of bridge furniture,” Mr Bhalla said.
He said motorists are advised to use the detour posted along Robbis Lane, Bowling Green Road and Chapel Street.
“The FRA will work to keep disruptions to a minimum and we are asking the public for their patience during the reconstruction period.”
