Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) would like to advise members of the public that the reconstruction of the roundabout at Korotogo will commence from 3rd February till 25th April 2023.
Our contractor, China Railway Fifth Group will dig out the deteriorated pavement of the Korotogo roundabout and will reconstruct a concrete roundabout as part of the Queens Road Upgrading Project (QRUP) Contract B.
Work is scheduled for 3 months, subject to weather and will be carried out in two phases;
| Traffic lane | Construction Period | Traffic Control | |
|
Stage 1 |
Sigatoka to Suva |
February 03rd to March 15th |
Peak hour: Sigatoka to Suva detour Korotogo Back Road
Off-peak hour: Go/Stop |
| Sigatoka to Sunset Strip | |||
|
Stage 2 |
Suva to Sigatoka |
March 16th to April 25th |
|
| Sunset Strip to Sigatoka |
During the construction phase, traffic along Queens Road through the Korotogo roundabout will be reduced to a single lane with temporary traffic management using Stop/ Go by site personnel. This will be maintained daily for 24 hours for the duration of the work. Motorists can also use the Korotogo Back Road as an alternate route.
Motorists are requested to plan their travel accordingly and follow all posted signage and speed limits.
