Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) will be reinstating a sinkhole on Fletcher Road, Vatuwaqa from 9am to 3pm today (Tuesday, 26th June).
During this time, the Nabua bound lane, approximately 10meters from Vira West Road junction will be closed and traffic will be reduced to single lane under a managed stop / go arrangement.
The cause of this sinkhole that has created a small cavity is suspected to be a dislocated culvert pipe.
The FRA will be carrying out excavation works to properly investigate the cause and complete necessary repairs.
Members of the public are requested to strictly adhere to the directions of the flagman and the site traffic control, to ensure the safety of other motorists and workmen alike.
