Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) is pleased to announce that the Cunningham footpath project is now complete.
FRA Acting General Manager Capital Works Tarun Bhalla says the new footpath is aimed at improving pedestrian access and safety.
“The new footpath is disability-friendly and will increase safety for pedestrians by providing them a defined path and it will reduce pedestrian accidents.”
Mr Bhalla said the footpath is now lined up on the full length of the East side of the Cunningham Road from Kings Road to Princes Road, plus selected sections of new footpath on the West side, a combined total length of approximately 3500m.
“The scope of works include new footpaths, associated kerb and channel, drainage, signage, upgrading five existing bus bays whilst making three new bus bay and pedestrian hand rails.
He has thanked the contractor Mr Sekaia Ragata of Rehoboth Infrastructure Limited for their hard work and dedication in completing this important project.
“FRA also wishes to thank the public for their patience and for allowing our contractor the room to safely carry on with the work.”
The new footpath is part of the FRA’s Renewals Project.
