The Fiji Roads Authority wishes to advise members of the public that the traffic lights at the junction of Lakeba Street and Ratu Mara Road will be temporarily affected on Monday, 5 October 2026, from 8:00am to 4:00pm due to a planned Energy Fiji Limited (EFL) shutdown.
To ensure public safety and maintain the continuous flow of traffic, a temporary roundabout will be established at the junction while the traffic lights are offline.
Motorists are requested to strictly adhere to the following temporary traffic arrangements:
- Temporary Roundabout: A full temporary roundabout will be established at the junction to manage traffic flow while the traffic lights are offline.
- Nausori-Bound Traffic: A left merge with a 15-metre taper will be implemented, with a single outside lane dedicated to all Nausori-bound traffic.
- Lakeba Street Right-Turn Closure and Suva-Bound Traffic: Motorists turning right into Lakeba Street will be required to enter and proceed through the temporary roundabout. A single outside lane will be allocated for Suva-bound traffic.
- Lakeba Street Outbound Traffic: A left merge with a 10-metre taper will be implemented, with a single outside lane allocated for traffic exiting Lakeba Street.
Motorists are advised to plan their journeys accordingly, exercise caution, and follow all traffic signs and directions from traffic controllers in the area.
