PLANNED ROAD CLOSURE FOR DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENT WORKS ON FLETCHER ROAD

The Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) wishes to inform the public about a planned road closure on Fletcher Road, between Statham Road and Laucala Bay Road, to facilitate the installation of a cross-culvert drainage pipe. This critical work is part of FRA’s efforts to address long-standing drainage issues in the area and reduce flooding along Fletcher Road and Laucala Bay Road during periods of heavy rainfall.

The cross-culvert installation will commence at 9:00 PM on Saturday, 5^th April, 2025, and is expected to be completed by 3:00 PM on Sunday, 6^th April, 2025, weather permitting.

Traffic directed toward Laucala Bay Road and Fletcher Road will be diverted via Beach Road and Statham Road. Only residents within the work zone will be permitted to pass through the worksite, while all through traffic will be restricted during the construction period.

The FRA will implement several safety measures. Traffic controllers will be stationed on-site to manage vehicle movement, while clear signage and barriers will guide both motorists and pedestrians.

Motorists are advised to plan their journeys in advance and expect minor delays.

The FRA urges all road users to follow temporary traffic signage, comply with instructions from traffic controllers, and proceed with caution through the worksite and detour routes.
