{"id":9485,"date":"2024-11-19T11:03:00","date_gmt":"2024-11-18T23:03:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.fijiroads.org\/?p=8259"},"modified":"2024-11-19T11:03:00","modified_gmt":"2024-11-18T23:03:00","slug":"fra-to-conduct-construction-work-for-nadi-town-traffic-layout-change","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fijiroads.org\/index.php\/2024\/11\/19\/fra-to-conduct-construction-work-for-nadi-town-traffic-layout-change\/","title":{"rendered":"FRA TO CONDUCT CONSTRUCTION WORK FOR NADI TOWN TRAFFIC LAYOUT CHANGE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-8260\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fijiroads.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/Nadi-Town.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"493\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>19th November, 2024 <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) will be carrying out Local Area Traffic Management (LATM) trials in Nadi Town area aimed at alleviating traffic congestion.<\/p>\n<p>To facilitate these trials, FRA&#8217;s contractor will undertake demolition and reconstruction works on existing structures within Nadi Town area to facilitate the required re-designed traffic flow layout.\u00a0 As part of the trial, all the traffic signals within the Town area will also be temporary turned off.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Demolition and Reconstruction Period:<\/strong> <strong>23rd November 2024 to 8th December 2024<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>New Layout Trial Period:<\/strong> <strong>8th December, 2024 &#8211; 8th March, 2025 (3 months)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Re-Design Layout Changes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Queens Road (Main Street):<\/strong> Traffic to be reverted to a single lane two-way traffic flow.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Andrews Road &amp; Raniga Street:<\/strong> Both roads to become single lane two-way traffic flow.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Naitavo Lane:<\/strong> The direction of traffic to be reversed to optimize traffic flow. Single lane one-way traffic flow.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sahu Khan Lane, Clay Street, and Market Lane:<\/strong> These roads will remain one-way. Single lane one-way traffic flow.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Baker Lane and Vunavau Lane:<\/strong> The direction of travel on both lanes will be reversed to optimize traffic flow.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Heavy Vehicles:<\/strong> Restricted from accessing Nadi Town\u2019s main street but can access through Andrews street, Raniga Street and Ratu Naevo Road.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Motorists are advised to be aware of these changes and to follow all posted temporary signs while navigating through Nadi Town.
