{"id":8116,"date":"2022-01-21T16:51:25","date_gmt":"2022-01-21T04:51:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.fijiroads.org\/?p=6935"},"modified":"2022-01-21T16:51:25","modified_gmt":"2022-01-21T04:51:25","slug":"partial-road-closures-along-qed-please-plan-ahead","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fijiroads.org\/index.php\/2022\/01\/21\/partial-road-closures-along-qed-please-plan-ahead\/","title":{"rendered":"PARTIAL ROAD CLOSURES ALONG QED, PLEASE PLAN AHEAD"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>21 January 2022<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) would like to advise members of the public using Queen Elizabeth Drive (QED) on the changes to the Local Area Traffic Management to provide safe environment for construction personnel and vehicular traffic alike. \u00a0Pedestrians are to use designated footpaths when traversing between Muanikau Road intersection to Ratu Sukuna Road intersection along QED.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>QED will be closed between Muanikau Road intersection and Ratu Sukuna Road intersection from 7am to 7pm, depending on tide until 24 January 2022.<\/li>\n<li>All traffic travelling from Suva to Laucala Bay via QED will detour through Ratu Sukuna Road and Muanikau Road.<\/li>\n<li>All traffic travelling from Laucala Bay to Suva via QED will detour through Muanikau Road and Ratu Sukuna Road.<\/li>\n<li>China Club restaurant patrons, Vama Law clients, Chinese Embassy officials, visitors and residents living between Ratu Sukuna and Kumi Street are permitted through site from Charlton Avenue.<\/li>\n<li>FNU Nasese Campus, PSC and all residents living between Kumi Street and Vuya Road are permitted access from Kumi Street and or Vuya Road junctions.<\/li>\n<li>Veiuto Primary School, Corpus Christi, Sacred Heart College, Stella Marists Primary School, Pacific Regional Seminary and residents are permitted through site from Vuya Road and or Muanikau Road.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Traffic controllers will be stationed at critical locations to guide traffic and public. The drivers are advised to maintain a temporary 30 km\/h speed limit when travelling through the site and the detour.<\/p>\n<p>FRA Chief Executive Officer Kamal Prasad says the bridge works are at 60 percent completion.<\/p>\n<p>For Area 1 Road Works (from Ratu Sukuna junction to Vuya Road junction), we are at 70 percent completion, the\u00a0remaining 30 percent is on pavement works and service line connections to the adjacent residences. Services relocation and drainage works have commenced on Area 2 (From Vuya Road Junction to Muanikau Road Junction).
