{"id":8106,"date":"2021-12-22T14:35:36","date_gmt":"2021-12-22T02:35:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.fijiroads.org\/?p=6868"},"modified":"2021-12-22T14:35:36","modified_gmt":"2021-12-22T02:35:36","slug":"appointment-of-chief-executive-officer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fijiroads.org\/index.php\/2021\/12\/22\/appointment-of-chief-executive-officer\/","title":{"rendered":"APPOINTMENT OF CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>22 December 2021<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Pursuant to the Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) Act 2012, the FRA Board is pleased to formally announce the appointment of Mr Kamal Prasad as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) with effect from 01 January 2022 for a 3-year term.<\/p>\n<p>The CEO position was vacated in October 2020 by Mr Jonathan Moore upon completion of his contract tenure. The vacancy was advertised internally and externally in line with FRA\u2019s recruitment policy process and the selection of the successful candidate was recommended by a 4-member interview panel comprising FRA Board Members and a private sector CEO.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Prasad has approximately 20 years of local and international industry experience in construction, design, geotechnical investigation, environmental assessment, contract management, asset management, traffic management, project management and disaster management of civil and structural infrastructure projects.<\/p>\n<p>He was recruited as a senior engineer by FRA after working 15 years in the United Kingdom and Australia. Given his capabilities, Mr Prasad progressed further in his career at FRA assuming the portfolio manager role for multilateral Bank loan funded projects. Thereafter, he was promoted to General Manager Delivery West to manage FRA\u2019s operations in the Western Division. Mr Prasad has served as Acting CEO for the past 15 months during which he demonstrated commendable strategic, technical, commercial and leadership skills to enhance the quality and timeliness of FRA\u2019s service delivery.<\/p>\n<p>Commenting on the appointment, FRA Board Chairman Mr Ariff Ali stated that the Board was confident with Mr Prasad\u2019s appointment following his performance as Acting CEO where he not only demonstrated technical competence in strategizing FRA\u2019s forward works and periodic\/routine maintenance programmes, but also displayed strong leadership skills.
