{"id":8103,"date":"2021-11-05T16:00:53","date_gmt":"2021-11-05T04:00:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.fijiroads.org\/?p=6844"},"modified":"2024-05-08T21:57:39","modified_gmt":"2024-05-08T21:57:39","slug":"close-to-100-roads-complete-under-the-rip-and-remake-programme-next-set-of-roads-in-progress","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fijiroads.org\/index.php\/2021\/11\/05\/close-to-100-roads-complete-under-the-rip-and-remake-programme-next-set-of-roads-in-progress\/","title":{"rendered":"CLOSE TO 100 ROADS COMPLETE UNDER THE RIP AND REMAKE PROGRAMME, NEXT SET OF ROADS IN PROGRESS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>05 November 2021<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) has completed phase one of major road improvement works on close to 100 roads in the Central, Northern and Western Division under the Rip and Remake programme in the last 12 months.<\/p>\n<p>FRA Acting Chief Executive Officer Kamal Prasad says the implemented roadworks have significantly improved the level of service of existing 400 lane kilometres of sealed roads directly contributing to the improved road user safety and traffic flow.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHowever, it has been brought to FRA\u2019s attention that the drivers are over speeding on these improved sections of roads endangering their lives and the lives of other road users.\u00a0 FRA is pleading to drivers to follow the posted road speeds so that everyone can safely make to their destination by road,\u201d Mr Prasad said.<\/p>\n<p>He said they are now working on the next set of 100 roads under the programme. The works will progress in a similar fashion and we expect to surpass the achievements of the last 12 months.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlthough these works do not require a full closure of roads, but motorists must allow for momentary closure in their plan when using these active sites.
