{"id":8045,"date":"2020-11-03T04:15:47","date_gmt":"2020-11-03T04:15:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.fijiroads.org\/?p=6372"},"modified":"2020-11-03T04:15:47","modified_gmt":"2020-11-03T04:15:47","slug":"roadworks-in-the-greater-suva-area-progressing-well","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fijiroads.org\/index.php\/2020\/11\/03\/roadworks-in-the-greater-suva-area-progressing-well\/","title":{"rendered":"ROADWORKS IN THE GREATER SUVA AREA PROGRESSING WELL"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>03 November 2020<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) wishes to advise members of the public that 2514m of severely deteriorated sections of roads in the Greater Suva Area has been rehabilitated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have completed roadworks on sections of Pratt Street, Selbourne Street, Hercules Street, Holland Street, Amy Street, Ono Street, and some sections of Queens Road at Namuka-i-Lau,\u201d says FRA Acting Chief Executive Officer Kamal Prasad.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWork is currently in progress on the severely deteriorated sections of Fulaga Street, Nasevou Street in Lami, Queens Road at Veisari, Nayau Street and Komo Street.<\/p>\n<p>The works on the next set of roads under this programme will begin from Friday, 6<sup>th<\/sup> November, namely:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Gordon Street,<\/li>\n<li>Solomoni Street<\/li>\n<li>Lakeba Street<\/li>\n<li>Nasinu Road<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cWorks on Nokonoko Road has been postponed to January 2021 due to contractor unavailability.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mr Prasad said the majority of the work will be carried out at night, including curfew hours, however some work will be carried out during the day.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll works will be sequential such that no open section of road is untrafficable during peak hours.
