Fletcher Construction were awarded the tender to design and build four long bridges that also include the Vunivaivai Bridge, Vunidilo Bridge and Cogeloa FSC1. Work on the Vunivaivai and Vunidilo Bridge are progressing well and is nearing completion.<\/p>\n<p>Lomawai Bridge is one of the critical bridges identified as in need of replacement. The existing structure will be demolished and construction of the new Lomawai Bridge is scheduled to commence soon after.<br \/>\nIn the meantime as a temporary measure, a pedestrian foot bridge will be made available. However motorists in the area are hereby advised of a detour route if travel plans include travel to either sides of the Lomawai Bridge.<br \/>\nFiji Roads Authority sincerely apologises for the inconvenince caused and urge members of the public to contact FRA to address any queries regarding the closure.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Fiji Roads Authority confirms the temporary closure of the Lomawai 1 Bridge, Sigatoka.
