{"id":4188,"date":"2018-09-25T02:18:01","date_gmt":"2018-09-25T02:18:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.fijiroads.org\/?p=4188"},"modified":"2018-09-25T02:18:01","modified_gmt":"2018-09-25T02:18:01","slug":"not-dump-household-waste-road-reserves","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fijiroads.org\/index.php\/2018\/09\/25\/not-dump-household-waste-road-reserves\/","title":{"rendered":"DO NOT DUMP HOUSEHOLD WASTE ON ROAD RESERVES"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>25 September 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) is reminding members of the public not to dump household waste on road reserves.<\/p>\n<p>FRA General Manager- Central Aram Goes says they have noticed an increase in the number of drains on road reserves being frequently covered in household rubbish, which not only causes pollution but it also creates extra work for the contractors.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe FRA contractors periodically cleans, mows and removes the overgrown weeds and self-sown trees to keep the road reserves clear of vegetation, debris and other obstructions.\u00a0 People planting crops along the road do so at their own risk, as do people leaving personal property outside their private boundary,\u201d Mr Goes said.<\/p>\n<p>He said the FRA is working with the town councils to ensure developers and resident\u2019s whose activities encroach beyond their private boundaries are complying with the relevant Acts and bylaws to protect the road assets and see that the public\u2019s safety is not compromised.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe all have a part to play in keeping our environment clean and safe and we can all stop pollution if we all take responsibility of our own household rubbish and green waste.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Read Here: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fijiroads.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/DO-NOT-DUMP-HOUSEHOLD-WASTE-ON-ROAD-RESERVES.pdf\">DO NOT DUMP HOUSEHOLD WASTE ON ROAD RESERVES<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>25 September 2017 Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) is reminding members of the public not to dump household waste on road reserves.
