{"id":3045,"date":"2017-11-22T19:12:11","date_gmt":"2017-11-22T19:12:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.fijiroads.org\/?p=3045"},"modified":"2017-11-22T19:12:11","modified_gmt":"2017-11-22T19:12:11","slug":"fra-issues-stern-warning-motorists-removing-barricades-active-construction-sites","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fijiroads.org\/index.php\/2017\/11\/22\/fra-issues-stern-warning-motorists-removing-barricades-active-construction-sites\/","title":{"rendered":"FRA ISSUES STERN WARNING TO MOTORISTS REMOVING BARRICADES ON ACTIVE CONSTRUCTION SITES"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>23 November 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Fiji Roads Authority\u2019s Chief Executive Officer Jonathan Moore has given a stern warning to the public, especially motorists that had removed traffic barricades on the new Vatuwaqa Bridge.<\/p>\n<p>Following the incident reported to the FRA, Mr Moore said it has come to their attention that some motorists had removed the barricades to access onto the new bridge, especially during peak hour traffic.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor your safety and for the safety of our workers please do not enter any construction sites and do not interfere with construction workers or any construction equipment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBarricades, traffic cones and cone bars enhance public safety and having someone remove these deliberately is unacceptable. Most importantly, because it is compromising the lives of innocent people.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He said the traffic signal at the Vatuwaqa Bailey Bridge was operational and the public are advised to adhere to the road rules.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMotorists have been observed entering the Vatuwaqa Bailey Bridge during red light.
