{"id":2967,"date":"2017-11-09T20:42:42","date_gmt":"2017-11-09T20:42:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.fijiroads.org\/?p=2967"},"modified":"2017-11-09T20:42:42","modified_gmt":"2017-11-09T20:42:42","slug":"rehabilitation-works-completed-naimasimasi-section-kings-road","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fijiroads.org\/index.php\/2017\/11\/09\/rehabilitation-works-completed-naimasimasi-section-kings-road\/","title":{"rendered":"REHABILITATION WORKS COMPLETED ON NAIMASIMASI SECTION ON KINGS ROAD"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>10 November 2017 <\/p>\n<p>The Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) has successfully completed rehabilitation works on the Naimasimasi Section on Kings Road.<\/p>\n<p>FRA General Manager Network Operations and Maintenance Aram Goes says the site was programmed for rehabilitation due to the deteriorating conditions of the existing pavement along these sections of the Kings Roads.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter initial pavement investigation and materials testing, the Contractor and FRA engineers have come up with a pavement design which has been implemented during the construction phase of this project.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He said the project started towards the end of September and took a little over a month to complete. The project was carried out by FRA and its maintenance contractor Fulton Hogan Hiways Joint Venture.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese works include removal of high shoulder to prevent water from ponding on the road edge, clearing drains, remove and replace existing seal and base material with imported crushed rock, stabilisation of the existing pavement and surfacing which included a two coat chip seal and asphalt surfacing for bus bay area.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>With the new road surface, the travelling public can now enjoy improved travel time and a better and safer driving surface. <\/p>\n<p>Mr Goes has thanked the road users for their patience and understanding as the FRA continues to improve the road network with higher quality. <\/p>\n<p>Read Full Report: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fijiroads.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/REHABILITATION-WORKS-COMPLETED-ON-NAIMASIMASI-SECTION-ON-KINGS-ROAD.pdf\">REHABILITATION WORKS COMPLETED ON NAIMASIMASI SECTION ON KINGS ROAD<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>10 November 2017 The Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) has successfully completed rehabilitation works on the Naimasimasi Section on Kings Road.
