Fiji Roads Authority is pleased to inform that the McArthur Street in Suva is now open to traffic.
\nConfirming this, Chief Executive Officer Jonathan Moore says the road is now open, however the motorists are advised to drive with care as there is no line marking yet.
\n\u201cIn the interim, we have activated the traffic signal and we have also placed cones to guide the free flow of traffic. The line marking will be completed soon, subject to weather.\u201d
\nMr Moore said the new and improved road will help reduce congestion and also provide a safe and improved access.
\n\u201cThe works included repairing of the damaged concrete pavement, kerb, channel, footpaths and surfacing.\u201d
\nHe said these works will help prolong the life of the roads by preventing them from premature deterioration and provide a smooth journey.
\n\u201cThe FRA wishes to thank the road users for their patience and understanding as we continue to improve the road network with higher quality.\u201d
