{"id":1872,"date":"2017-04-11T04:44:57","date_gmt":"2017-04-11T04:44:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.fijiroads.org\/?p=1872"},"modified":"2017-04-11T04:44:57","modified_gmt":"2017-04-11T04:44:57","slug":"kasavu-bailey-bridge-will-completed-ahead-schedule-due-open-thursday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fijiroads.org\/index.php\/2017\/04\/11\/kasavu-bailey-bridge-will-completed-ahead-schedule-due-open-thursday\/","title":{"rendered":"KASAVU BAILEY BRIDGE WILL BE COMPLETED AHEAD OF SCHEDULE, DUE TO OPEN ON THURSDAY"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>11 April 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) is pleased to announce that the Kasavu Bailey Bridge in Tailevu is progressing well and will be completed ahead of schedule by 2pm on Thursday (April 13), weather permitting.<\/p>\n<p>Confirming this, FRA Chief Executive Officer John Hutchinson says the Bailey Bridge is single lane for buses, cars and trucks accommodating all legal load limits with a speed restriction of 15km\/ hour.<\/p>\n<p>This follows after the large slip at Kasavu\/Baulevu Road Junction which had taken a great portion of the road due to the heavy rain triggered by Tropical Depression 04F in December last year.<\/p>\n<p>In light of this, Mr Hutchinson said the FRA contractors have worked tirelessly around the clock to ensure that the Bailey Bridge can be completed ahead of schedule.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe FRA is committed in keeping the major arterial roads, especially the Queens and Kings Roads open at all times and the public will no longer have to make long, tiresome detours to reach their destinations as this new Bailey Bridge will facilitate transport and business operations in the areas beyond.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He said that traffic controllers will manage traffic through the site until the traffic lights are installed at Kasavu.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe FRA is advising the public to drive carefully across the new Bailey Bridge as per the posted speed limits and comply with the legal load limits.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The cost to install the Bailey Bridge solution was $398,500 (VEP).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1873\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fijiroads.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Installation-of-Kasavu-Bailey-Bridge-in-progress-1-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Installation of Kasavu Bailey Bridge in progress\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Read Full Report: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fijiroads.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/KASAVU-BAILEY-BRIDGE-WILL-BE-COMPLETED-AHEAD-OF-SCHEDULE-1.pdf\">KASAVU BAILEY BRIDGE WILL BE COMPLETED AHEAD OF SCHEDULE<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>11 April 2017 Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) is pleased to announce that the Kasavu Bailey Bridge in Tailevu is progressing well and will be completed ahead<span class=\"excerpt-hellip\"> [\u2026]<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":6804,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[26],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-1872","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-media"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v25.8 -
