TAMAVUA-I-WAI BRIDGE UNDERGOES ROUTINE INSPECTION AND MAINTENANCE TONIGHT

9 November 2017

Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) would like to advise members of the public that traffic will be reduced to single lane only under a managed stop / go arrangement on the Tamavua-I-Wai Bridge on Queens Road outside Suva.

Works will commence from 7.00pm tonight on the lane closure for Suva bound traffic. In conjunction with necessary periodic, minor surface repairs will be carried out and the lane will remain closed till 5.30am Friday morning.

FRA Chief Executive Officer Jonathan Moore says that the FRA acknowledges that this bridge is a key link to the Suva City and the Port and as such the high level of emphasis is placed to keep the traffic moving with minimal disruption.

“Our contractor will work outside of peak hours and will endeavour to minimise disruption to the public.”

Members of the public travelling along this area to take this notice into account when finalising travel plans.

FRA wishes to apologise for the short term inconvenience, but this is for long term improvement. For further queries please call FRA on 5720.
