SCOPE Pacific has been commissioned by the Fiji Roads Authority to carry out the Environmental Assessment and Social Safeguards Assessment as part of the ADB Due Diligence Procedures for the above project. As part of SARUP 2, the Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) is proposing to rehabilitate and upgrade 20 sections of existing sealed roads comprising approximately 17.756 km in the Greater Suva Area. For most of these roads, the works will involve pavement resurfacing and repairs to existing kerbs and footpaths. Small sections of road widening (within the existing road reserve) and footpath installation will also be undertaken at selected sites.

Strategic Consultants in Planning and Engineering (SCOPE) Pacific Limited has been commissioned by the Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) to undertake public consultations as part of the Environmental Assessment and Social Safeguards Assessment in compliance with ADB’s Due Diligence Procedures.
The main objective of the consultations is to consult the key stakeholders, surrounding community members and the general public on any issues or concerns which they may wish to raise in relation to the proposed road works which in turn will be incorporated as part of the Environmental and Social Due Diligence reports to be submitted to the Department of Environment and ADB for review.

The public consultation will provide an overview of the proposed road upgrade works, identify potential environmental& social impacts envisaged and how these could potentially be mitigated.
