24 August 2017

Major road rehabilitation works will be carried out to improve McArthur Street from tomorrow under the Suva Arterial Roads Upgrade Project- phase 1.

Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) Acting Chief Executive Officer Robert Sen says the roadworks will start at Victoria Parade and will end at Gordon Street to improve safety, by providing a smoother and less disruptive journey to the road users.

“Works will include repairing the damaged concrete pavement, damaged kerb, channel, footpaths and surfacing.”

He said these works will help prolong the life of the roads by preventing them from premature deterioration.

“The road will remain closed during the rehabilitation works.”

Mr Sen has thanked the road users for their patience and understanding as the FRA continues to improve the road network with higher quality.

All works are expected to be completed by the end of October, weather permitting.
