Two more of Suva’s streets will undergo road improvement work from this week. Fiji Roads Authority through its maintenance contractor Fulton Hogan Hiways will be carrying out road reconstruction work on Stinson Parade Road and Edward Street in Suva and work will commence Thursday 11th February 2016.
These work will include road dig outs, road rebuilding and road resurfacing which will be carried out outside of peak hours and at night. This should keep delays in travel time on these roads at a minimum and motorists are requested to co-operate with the road crews working onsite.
Motorists can expect two more roads with improved travel conditions much like the major road improvement work that was carried out in 2013 to improve the profile of some of Suva City’s busiest roads, including Rodwell Road, Harris Road, Knolly Street and Victoria Parade.
In line with this improvement work, further investigation of utility services could extend to the footpath along Edward Street and may mean that foot traffic could also be affected as a result.
The public are advised to follow instructions from the traffic controllers on the ground and to follow clearly marked detour routes that will be in place whilst the road work is taking place.
Safety is paramount and the general public is advised to exercise caution near our worksites.
Fiji Roads Authority wishes to apologise for any inconvenience that may result from these road improvement works.
